Each season, I often window shop at the mall to scope out the latest fashion trends. Someone once said “history repeats itself” and fashion is no different. I’ve noticed trends that have always been in thrift stores, but are now on every clothing rack in retail stores. Many fall trends are making a comeback in retail stores, but check out five fall thrifted trends that will never go out of style.
1. Sweater Vests
Fall is all about layering. Sweater vests are perfect to add under a button-down or plain long-sleeve top. You can find a variety of sweater vests at thrift stores too. Be sure to look in the men’s section.
2. Leather
Jackets, pants, skirts, tops! Nothing screams fall like leather. You’ll definitely find leather clothing pieces at thrift stores (and if you’re lucky, you’ll find leather in various colors too). Plus, thrift stores price leather pieces at reasonable prices.
3. Plaid
Just like leather, you’ll definitely find plaid blazers, pants, and skirts at thrift stores. I love plaid clothing pieces because they give a 90s preppy vibe lol. Not only that, you can find different patterns of plaid at thrift stores too.
4. Trousers
If you’re anything like me, then your trousers are thrifted. One thing that I appreciate about thrifted trousers is the old-school fit and look. Plus, thrifted trousers are so versatile. You can dress them up with a blazer or down with a graphic tee.
5. Button-downs
Button-downs are another fall essential that are universal. You can layer them with an oversized sweater, wear them just as a dress, or pair them with any bottom. Thrift stores are filled with button-downs of different colors, prints, and patterns too.
